At The Music Coaches, we believe the right teacher makes all the difference in a student’s musical journey. Our mission is to match students with top-tier music teachers who provide a supportive, productive, and fun learning experience.
We also handle all administrative details—scheduling, payments, recitals, workshops, and events—so students and teachers can focus on what matters most: learning and making music.
Who We Are
The Music Coaches (TMC) is a leading music student-to-teacher referral service, established in 2015 and led by Paul Tavenner. With over 40 years of professional experience, Paul leverages his extensive background as a performer, producer, and engineer to connect students with the best music instructors in Los Angeles and beyond.
Paul is also an active performer in the LA music scene, and owns Big City Recording Studios, where he has worked with top-tier musicians across genres including jazz, classical, pop, rock, and world music.
